Did you know?
YOU HAVE TO HAVE A LICENSE TO CUT HAIR IN THE STATE of PENNSYLVANIA!
But, NO Licensing or training is required for someone to install a remote start in your expensive car! That is why you see such a difference in pricing. WE SELL Reliable Products, Have the Best People, and Up to date Training and Technical Information !
Choosing a remote starter and a company to install it for you can be pretty confusing these days.
Why? Because like most consumers, you've probably been "bombarded" with confusing claims and simply a lot of bad information.
With all the unbelievably low advertised prices and poor quality installations going on everyday out there — how will you ever find a qualified, competent, company to install a good, dependable product for you?
You'll start by reading this website. On this site, we've identified many of the all too common rip-offs we hear about, the everyday mistakes many people make when shopping for a remote starter, along with the questions you really need to ask. Plus, we'll reveal the simple but important steps to follow to ensure you'll receive a high-quality remote starter and a dependable installation.
We want you to understand remote car starters and the companies that install them. Armed with this information, you'll find it easy to make an informed, intelligent decision.
ENORMIS Has Quality Remote Starts that:
1. Monitor the exact ENGINE RPM for a sure start and safety. ENORMIS remote starts have the ability to compensate for cold temperatures and your particular engine. (That means our units work in ALL Temperatures, NO EXCUSES) In Fact ENORMIS Technicians use a handheld computer programmer to program the remote start for YOUR particular vehicle!
Most remote starts take a guess whether or not your car has started. Cheaper systems WILL NOT work when the temperature dips below 20 degrees. Why? Most starts do not have the ability to vary the crank time of your starter. They try to start the car and fail. ENORMIS Remote Starts know whether or not your car has started and exactly at what RPM your engine is running. ENORMIS has smart remote starts.
2. Have super-heterodyne amplified antennas for AWESOME RANGE, even inside brick buildings. Forget the number game for a second! Cheaper systems give you HALF the range they claim, because of cheaper technology. Good 1,000ft systems routinely perform better than the cheaper 1,500-2,500 ft systems. Range claims are only half the story, and don't worry we have systems that will TRULY work 1 mile away!
3. Have *2 rugged, reliable remotes! Look at the remotes too. Our units typically have the rubberized buttons found on OE remotes.
Be careful! We have heard of local shops promising customers a Lifetime Warranty on remote controls to "get the Sale". We know, because these customers come to our shop complaining about their Lifetime Warranty not being honored.
Remote controls take alot of abuse, and most Manufacturers DO NOT give a Lifetime warranty on their remotes, despite what people may tell you.
4. Have the ability to work with today's new cars. I wish there was a way to implant, in customers heads, the complexity of today's new cars. New cars are literally run by computers. These computers have the ability to detect small nuances in the electrical system.
Cheap starts DO NOT have the ability to communicate with these computers.
What can an inferior remote start and installation do?
- Cause a check engine light to come on.
- Cause a security/antitheft light to come on.
- May try to restart your car after it is already running!
- Try to start and then fail to start your car. Sometimes repeating this over and over!
- Set off the car's security system when you start the car by remote. (Very embarrassing and annoying)
- Throw a security light and then NOT ALLOW you to start the car, because the car thinks you are a thief!
- Wait days, weeks, or months before doing the above things. Your car dealer WILL NOT be sympathetic.
ENORMIS Has the best installation:
1. ENORMIS maintains the integrity of the factory wiring in your car. We use a method that PREVENTS US from cutting the vehicle's factory wires. In fact our connections can be literally unplugged. (Car dealers find this very useful.) Wires are not cut unless absolutely necessary. We DO NOT VOID your car's warranty.
(Beware, Some shops claim they don't cut wires. Some outright lie and some use horrible methods. They Strip the insulation off the wire using a utility knife, and wrap a wire around it and black tape it. Very crude and not a good connection. Car dealers are not excited about this method.) Our connection is the MOST EXPENSIVE in the business that is why most shops don't use it. Some shops will try to disparage this method and say it is inferior, be warned.
2. ENORMIS installs a MAIN switch in your vehicle so your system can be disabled easily by you or service personnel. ENORMIS feels it is important for you to be sure that you can disable the device that starts up 2 tons of glass and steel. ENORMIS eliminates needless service calls and we make sure your vehicle is safe!
3. The complexity of today's cars is mind boggling. Traditional 12volt circuitry has been replaced with computer signals traveling throughout the car. The days of "my mechanic can do it" are GONE. On top of that, these car makers are incorporating anti theft systems that make it even more difficult to install remote starts. Remote starts are more difficult to install on these cars, because these new cars think your remote car start is a car thief!
Beware, we have found alot of shops fabricating their own antitheft systems, especially on 95+GM products. These fabricated devices will bring on check engine and anti-theft lights. These devices have also left customers stranded many times, because the vehicle thinks it is being stolen.
What does a good shop do to overcome these issues? They find the latest, state of the art, computer programs, and invest in computerized interface modules. Yes, these items cost more money. They are worth it. Would you rather save $50 on a remote start and then be calling for a tow truck, on some cold day, because your vehicle won't start?
ENORMIS uses the latest technology to communicate with your vehicle's computer. in fact ENORMIS owns the GM Tech 2 Tool. This is a $5,000 tool that talks to all GM vehicles EVER MADE ! Not all shops invest the time, money, and energy required to use this technology.
ENORMIS wants it right the first time.
3 Steps To Finding A Reliable Remote Car Starter
STEP #1: Once you've decided to have a remote starter added to your vehicle, list your objectives. Do you really want the cheapest remote starter you can find? Or... is finding the best value at a fair price more important? Do you want to work with an honest, reputable company? Or are you willing to risk working with the company with "the cheapest price" — not knowing what they're installing, and that they might not be in business tomorrow?
STEP #2: Ask questions. The way to learn about a company is to ask specific questions and listen carefully to the answers. Here are 9 tough questions to ask before you allow any company to do an installation in your vehicle:
1) How many models/brands of remote starters do you offer?
(Most Specialty Shops Carry 1 Brand They Believe in. Having One brand also allows the techs to become intimately familiar with that particular brand.)
2) Do you carry some models/brands that you don't recommend? If yes, Why do you carry them?
(Some shops try to impress you with multiple brands. They then tell you that some brands are not recommended so you shy away from their competition.)
3) How long have you been using this brand?
(This is an indication of their belief in the product, ENORMIS has been using the same brand for 10 years!)
4) What model would you recommend for my vehicle and my needs and why?
(The shop should be listening to your needs. Each person and vehicle is different. Make sure they are not "pushing" a particular model.)
5) How long is this remote starter guaranteed and is its installation warranted as well?
(Again No wrong answer. Be aware of exaggerated claims like; Lifetime Warranty on Remotes)
6) Is that a written warranty and what exactly does the warranty cover? May I see a copy of it? (Listen to the answer) ENORMIS shows you the warranty on this website after every model description
7) Do you hire part time help to install remote starts during your busy season?
(Here today Gone Tomorrow help is not good with your vehicle that you rely on everyday)
8) May I see a list of references or comments from your past clients?
(You can also type a business name on google followed with review)
9) Are you a member of the Better Business Bureau, and what will the BBB tell me about your company?
(Always good to check and make sure)
STEP #3: Once you're satisfied that you're working with an honest and reputable company, ask for a specific quotation over the phone. Or better yet — pay a visit to the place of business, get a demonstration and a quote in writing. A written quotation gives you the assurance that you'll know exactly what you're getting and what the cost will be — with no surprises.
By following these three easy steps, you'll gain all the information you need to make an informed and intelligent decision.
If finding the cheapest price is your primary concern, you'll find many other companies in the phone book happy to take your money.
The owner of ENORMIS made the decision over 11 years ago to focus on offering customers the best for their money at a fair price; instead of "baiting" them with a cheap price; hoping to "switch" them into something more expensive when they come in or worse yet, when their car is apart in the garage!
