Don and Eileen M. of Titusville, PA, were the happy owners of a new Chevrolet. But, they realized the 2020 Traverse had no satellite radio! They like to listen to SiriusXM music and talk radio on trips from Canada to Florida. So, Satellite radio with SiriusXM is a must! We see this quite a bit. More and more people are assuming that all new vehicles have SiriusXM Satellite Radio. After all, their last vehicle had it!
Don and Eileen contacted their Titusville Chevy dealership about the issue. So, the dealer picked up the special red phone and called Tony at ENORMIS. (The phone was not really red in color, we said that for dramatic effect.)
Tony at ENORMIS found a 2020 Traverse satellite radio tuner/interface kit for their new Chevy. Once installed, this kit would receive SiriusXM satellite radio signals and transfer that information to the Traverse radio system. This interface activates an “SXM” button on the factory touchscreen radio! Because of that, it allows complete control of the satellite radio through the touchscreen.
Traverse Satellite Radio gets an MECP Installation
Tony made an appointment for Don and Eileen to bring in their 2020 Traverse. Art Dougan, one of our MECP-certified technicians, installed the SiriusXM tuner and interface. Meanwhile, Don and Eileen had lunch down the road. Tony had their existing SiriusXM radio subscription information. So, he called SiriusXM and had the satellite radio active and running before their return. Thanks, Tony!
When Don and Eileen came to pick up the Traverse, Tony spent the time showing them how to select categories and set favorite channels, etc. This was all done from the Traverse radio touchscreen. In fact, The Traverse steering wheel controls even worked with channel-changing and volume with the newly installed SiriusXM tuner. Don and Eileen were happy with the install and ready for some long-distance road travel.
