Backup Sensors for Audible Safety Alerts in 2019 Mazda CX-3

The Mazda CX-3 is the 2018 IIHS Top Safety Pick and now it’s even safer. John, a first-time ENORMIS Mobile Specialties customer and Harborcreek resident, wanted to add reverse warning or backup sensors to his wife’s 2019 MAZDA CX-3. The CX-3 comes nicely equipped with a good backup camera, but John wanted the added safety of an audible alert when his wife was backing up. His Lincoln currently has reverse park aid sensors and the wife’s previous vehicle had the reverse sensors as well.

John stopped by the store and spoke with Doug Reichert, our integration expert, who suggested a four-sensor system: two sensors for the direct rear of the vehicle and two sensors that would be offset to provide coverage for the sides.

Our MECP-certified technician Ken Whiteman did an exceptional installation, making sure to space the sensors evenly for uniform coverage and a factory-fit look. He was also able to synchronize the backup sensor warning with the vehicle’s existing backup camera gridlines!

Now ,when Theresa puts her Mazda in reverse, she will get an audible warning when the sensors detect an object at 7 feet away (the first gridline), a faster tone at 4 feet away (the 2nd gridline) and a constant tone at 2 feet (the red gridline).
