Since this 2005 Ford Thunderbird is a convertible, the stereo has to play loud and clear. The factory stereo has a built-in amplifier, but the factory speakers were distorting when the client turned up the volume. This repeat ENORMIS client and East Erie resident wanted to upgrade the stereo in his Ford Thunderbird 50th Anniversary Edition. Who did he call? ENORMIS Mobile Specialties!
Our innovation specialist Doug Reichert did some research on the vehicle and made sure ENORMIS had the correct speakers. To improve the sound of the stereo, we installed a pair of Phoenix Gold TI two-way Pointsource 5×7 speakers with a 20 mm tweeter in the front doors, a set of Phoenix Gold SX 20 mm tweeters in the center console, and finally a set of JVC 6×8 coaxial speakers behind the rear seats.
We had the vehicle done the same day, but the customer could not pick it up until the next day, so we made sure we kept the Thunderbird safe overnight in its own 15×30 garage.
The client picked up the Thunderbird and noticed a cleaner, crisper sound right away. Now on his cruises through wine country, he can enjoy clean, crisp sound with the top down.
