A KIA dealership called and wanted to know if it was possible to add Sirius Satellite radio to a 2019 KIA Sorento. KIA no longer offers Sirius radio on this sub-model, and the customer really wanted it. Paula called and spoke with Doug Reichert, our integration specialist, about the vehicle. Doug offered Paula two options.
ENORMIS could install a standalone satellite radio module that would have to sit on the dash or in a storage pocket, or we could install a hidden Satellite Radio Interface that would display the satellite radio stations and info right on the KIA touchscreen.
The customer chose the touchscreen interface. It’s a little more money, but so worth it! We tasked MECP-certified technician Chris Brown with the installation and he did an expert job. He installed the satellite radio antenna and the sat radio interface module, and hid all the wiring. The satellite radio interface downloads the customer’s subscription and stores the channels. The customer can then access all of their favorite channels directly on the KIA touchscreen. This is as close to factory-installed as it gets with the 2019 Kia Sorento.
