An East Erie customer wanted to add a backup camera to her 2013 Dodge Caravan. Our service advisor Doug invited her to the store to look at different options. With Doug’s help, she selected a JVC head unit as the display screen for the backup camera. She chose the JVC unit for not only its great picture clarity, but because it allowed her to add a SiriusXM radio, DVD player and USB port, advanced Bluetooth, and BT audio streaming. Whew – that’s quite a list.
She tried getting this project done before at a big box store, but the radio had 1/2-inch gaps all the way around it. Our technician Ken did the job properly and repaired what the big box store had broken. We also retained the factory steering wheel controls for volume, channel change and source change. Ken even flush-mounted the USB port in the storage area above the glove box for ease of access and cable storage.
The JVC unit retains all of the vehicle special features that work through the original radio, but adds individual tire pressure readouts and check engine light diagnostic codes. Wow – talk about full-featured!
