Grace, a Fairview resident, recently purchased a 2018 Honda CR-V EX-L that came with a remote start from Honda. There was a problem: Grace had to be right next to the vehicle to start it with the Honda remote, and the vehicle would only run for 10 minutes.
Grace called and spoke with Doug Reichert, our integration specialist. He asked some simple questions: How far away from the vehicle did she need to start it from? Did she want confirmation that the vehicle was actually running? Doug suggested the ENORMIS Factory Start v5 with the optional two-way Ataqan remote control. This remote start has a Honda-specific wiring harness and 6/10 mile of range. Not only that but, when Grace is in the school where she works, the remote will tell her that the CR-V is outside running by a few beeps and light flashes.
Once she uses the remote start, Grace can walk up to her CR-V and simply put her hand in the door handle for the proximity unlock. She then just gets in the vehicle and heads out. The CR-V will recognize the factory key fob – the push button on the dash flashes white. Once pushed, it turns to red and she can drive away. Once remote started, the vehicle does not shut down when the door is opened.
