Eddy wanted a 115 V AC power inverter installed.  Eddy, a South East Erie resident, just bought a brand-new 2018 Ford F-150. He is a construction site coordinator for a local energy company.  He uses his personal truck to respond to emergency calls. A power inverter would allow him to run a few power tools from his truck and charge his laptop and other portable devices. How nice would it be to charge the battery for your drill, saw or flashlight right in your truck?

Eddy is usually the first person onsite installing power to new construction. So access to power is limited.

Eddy stopped by the store and spoke with Doug Reichert and Mike Macaluso about the project. They picked out a location for the inverter under the rear seat, where it would be hidden from sight when not in use.

Power Inverter gets installed.

We scheduled Eddy for the installation when he could be off the job site. Eddy came in one afternoon and caught up on paperwork in our waiting room while MECP-certified technician Ken Whiteman installed the heavy-duty power cable and inverter.
Ken was sure to loom all the wiring to protect against bad weather. He brought the wiring from the front of the vehicle to the rear through the firewall. Then he went under the carpeting and into the cab through the a small slit in the carpet. For a safe and clean installation, Ken also installed a heavy-duty 300 amp breaker  to protect the circuit.

While in the store, Eddy was looking around and saw our marine audio section of the store. In preparation for spring, he ordered a new RayMarine fish finder and GPS system!  Ken will install when the weather breaks.

Thank you, Eddy, for allowing Erie’s Automotive Electrical Experts to service your truck.
