An East Erie resident was looking to add a backup camera to her mother’s 2016 KIA Soul. Kathy’s mother had recently been in an accident and her old vehicle was written off as totaled by the insurance company. The rental vehicle for her mother had a backup camera in it and her mother insisted that her new vehicle have one as well.
Kathy called and spoke with Doug Reichert, our product and integration specialist. He invited Kathy to our showroom to explore options for the backup camera. Kathy decided that a large display with the backup camera was the best option for her mom. MECP-certified technician Art Dougan installed a Kenwood DDX-25BT with a 6.2 inch touchscreen display with Maestro SW steering wheel controls. This gives Kathy’s mom Lucy the best picture of what is behind her when she is backing up, but does not change the functionality of the vehicle’s controls.
Kathy and Lucy dropped the vehicle off in the morning and picked it up later that afternoon. Although the Kenwood 25bt is easy to use, Doug spent time with Lucy on reviewing all of the features and controls, so Lucy now can drive with confidence.
