Debbie was looking to add a remote start for a 2014 BMW 428XI Convertible. Debbie is a west Millcreek resident and first time ENORMIS Mobile Specialties client. But, she almost wasn’t. Ya see, Debbie was going to travel the 1.5 hours to Cleveland OH for a remote start! But, she called ENORMIS and spoke with Doug Reichert our integration specialist, about the remote start for a 2014 BMW 428xi. Doug was familiar with the remote start for the BMW. He just helped another client get a remote start on a 2014 BMW 328xi 2 months earlier. So, that makes things easier!
Remote Start on a BMW is involved
Doug explained that ENORMIS of Erie, Pa is a dealer for a unique company. This company specializes in making/designing proprietary remote start hardware for the BMW brand with the comfort access keyless entry system. Because of this, their vehicle specific BMW remote start system uses OEM compatible wiring methods and it installs without cutting or soldering to the factory BMW wiring. Not only that but, Debbie liked the fact that she would not have to travel the 1.5 hours to Cleveland for the installation. As a further note, Technician Ken Whiteman cautions persons attempting to do installations on these vehicles. The BMW remote start install is very tedious and different than all other vehicles.
Client needs are addressed
Debbie travels for work and her remote start needs vary as she travels. As an example, one day she may get to park right in front of a building. But, other days she may have to park in a ramp several blocks away. Because of that, Doug recommended that Debbie go with the Remote control and app included with the Ataqan 2-Way v6x .6mile Remote Start . The smartphone app allows Debbie to remote start and lock/unlock the BMW 428 from her smartphone! So, if she has a cell phone signal she is good to go! The app also provides Debbie confirmation that the BMW has started and if the doors are locked! This remote also provides Debbie with two-way confirmation that her BMW did in fact start!
Remote Start Install Completed
Debbie scheduled the appointment while Doug ordered parts. Debbie dropped her 428XI off at ENORMIS early one morning. MECP certified technician Ken Whiteman began the BMW remote start installation process. Once the hardware was installed, Doug and Ken ran the remote start through it paces and made sure everything was working perfectly. Doug returned the vehicle back to Debbie that night. When Debbie arrived to the store, Doug assisted Debbie in registering the Smartphone app to her BMW 428 and fully demonstrated all of the remote start functions to her.
