The Kia dealership here in Erie recently contacted ENORMIS Mobile Specialties to coordinate the installation of several 2018 Kia Sorento upgrades. We work closely with Kia Dealer to deliver vehicle enhancements for their clients. In the case of this new Sorento, this is the second Kia the owner has purchased and the second time she has been to ENORMIS for upgrades.
Kia Sorento Upgrades
The client requested a remote car starter, an overhead video system, a trailer hitch and WeatherTech FloorLiners as part of the vehicle purchase. The Kia dealer let us know what she wanted, and we went ahead and scheduled the vehicle. The Kia dealer provided the client with a loaner vehicle while we spent time working on the vehicle.
Remote Car Starter
We installed one of our Mini 2-way.3 V4 Remote Starters in the Sorento. This starter includes a 2-way remote control that has LEDs to indicate when the car has started. With a 2-way system, there is never any need to wonder if you are in range of the vehicle when you press the start button.
Overhead DVD System
Next, we installed a 10-inch flip-down DVD player for the client. The system includes a pair of infrared wireless headphones so rear seat passengers can enjoy the movie without interrupting anyone else in the vehicle. Our installation technicians take the time to run an audio cable from the overhead DVD player to the auxiliary input of the factory radio. If everyone in the vehicle wants to listen to the movie, all they have to do is select the Aux input on the radio.
Curt Trailer Hitch
The vehicle owner has a small utility trailer. As such, she wanted a trailer hitch on the Sorento. We ordered a Curt 13195 Class III trailer hitch and installed it on the vehicle. We also wired up a four-pin trailer connector using a T-harness system that will not interfere with the factory electrical system warranty.
WeatherTech FloorLiners
To protect the interior of her vehicle from damage due to melting snow, we installed a set of WeatherTech FloorLiner floor mats in the vehicle. These laser-measured mats extend up the sides of the footwells to keep the vehicle clean. For this application, we used 447701 front mats and 447702 rear mats.

Once the work on the Sorento was complete, the client came to ENORMIS to pick up the car. Our product specialist Tony Horton walked her through how to use the remote starter, overhead monitor and trailer hitch. Tony also, as we always do, provided her with the owner’s manuals for everything, along with his business card. She knows that she can call or drop by anytime if she has questions.
With the client on her way, we wrapped up the project by arranging the return of the loaner vehicle to the Kia dealership on her behalf.
