Electrical Experts at Enormis Fix 2009 Jeep Commander Wiring Issue

A local collision repair center was having electrical issues with a 2009 Jeep Commander. The interior dome lights would not turn on, the radio would not turn off when the driver door was opened, and the power locks and windows would not work. The collision center attempted to fix the issues by replacing the fuse box, driver door harness and driver door control module, and swapping the Body Control Module with no luck. As a last resort, they called Erie’s Automotive Electrical Experts at ENORMIS.

MECP-certified technician Art Dougan was assigned to work on the vehicle and was able to correctly diagnose and repair the issue in a few hours. He retrieved the wiring schematic for the vehicle and traced the issue from the under-hood fuse box to the actual issue in the vehicle.

Art found and removed a splice point and installed three new wires, bypassing the factory splice point. After soldering all of the connections, Art shrink-wrapped the wiring for the best electrical connections possible.

After restoring the power to the driver door module and programming the module, Art solved the original issue for all three concerns. The interior lighting, door locks and windows all now work.
